We owe all the newcomers a huge WELCOME and THANK YOU for participating this Season, and all the old gang for their loyalty, love of Maksim, and kindnesses to one another. I hope everyone will celebrate with others who you've enjoyed being with on Maksim's Season 10 journey. You are an awesome force to be reckoned with, and a class act. Hope we all can do it again, soon!!!
Season 10 was the most obviously scripted, manipulated, orchestrated contest of all DWTS seasons, in my opinion. From the earliest weeks, Nicole Shesaringer was given TENS and high praise. Eventually they finally said, "The best dancer ever on DWTS," (which rarely is repeated without someone disagreeing and with good reason). Finally, it was TOTALLY CLEAR when Len Goodman announced to Nicole and Derek that she should win -- just minutes before her finale competitor, Evan Lysacek, was to dance. HUH?
Len Goodman is one of the producers, as well as a judge. He of all people would have known the desired outcome if the producers had one, and Len disses the MOST GENTLEMANLY contestant, Evan, with the rudest judge behavior EVAH ON DWTS! Oh, Len. You are truly a tired old fogey, but your crude blunder explains a lot.
NO WONDER Len kept throwing Maks and Erin under the bus all season long! Now the picture is clear. How dare those two become so good and so popular??? Didn't Maks get the playbook for Season 10? Gives me all the more reason to adore our Maksim if he knew and refused, or if he caught on and fought it, either way, Maks nearly blew their plan through sheer grit and showmanship. What a Season he and Erin had! Beautiful and even a bit sweet knowing there really was no chance at all and they had gummed up the plan.
For all the ten seasons, the voters have had their place for ringers like Nicole. Starting with Mario Lopez' loss to the charming and untrained Emmit Smith, and the same treatment for Joey Fatone, Mel B, and Mya, the American DWTS viewers have kept with the premise of the show and refused to give the trophy to anyone they thought was too well trained professionally in dance. With this Season, I believe that the producers and arrogant judges over-rode both the premise of the show and the voters' preferences. I predict that the viewing audience will never fall for that again . . . and note that the ratings for the finale, while good, were down 27% from last season's finale.
Couldn't be prouder of Maksim C for his totally excellent teaching, for Erin's totally excellent performances, and for adding really the only suspense to the entire season. He's The Man, to be sure.
